Tell Congress: Rebuild Public Media

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting — which provided federal support for hundreds of NPR and PBS affiliates across the country — has officially dissolved, leaving countless people in the dark about what’s happening in their communities and in the halls of power.

We need our political leaders to commit to publicly funding the media that we need to stay informed about our communities, hold those in power accountable and reclaim our democracy.

Urge Congress to begin the process of rebuilding this nation’s public-media system.

To Members of Congress:

The closing of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is a call to action: It’s time to build a new system that’s more accountable and responsive to the public. We need our political leaders to invest in a public-media system that is funded for the long term and shielded from political interference. Your constituents need a system that supports local-news startups, investigative reporting, civic-engagement initiatives and public-interest journalism.

Please make a public commitment to rebuilding and reinvesting in these vital public resources.
